Rukmini Sanyal is an expert in political and macroeconomic risk in Sub-Saharan Africa (with a focus on West African economies). She is the Africa lead for Operational Risk, and also served as one of the regional leads for Sub-Saharan Africa for the EIU’s Democracy Index in 2022. Furthermore, she has demonstrated the ability to conduct economic forecasting in crisis-economies, such as Ghana, for which she has also won several Focus Economics awards in recent years. She is frequently cited and published by regional and global publications for her insights on political, security, policy, and economic trends in Sub-Saharan Africa. She holds a Msc in Politics and Communication from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and an online certification course in Macroeconomics from the University of Oxford. She is fluent in English, Hindi and Bengali.
