Cristobal Samardzich

Senior Analyst, Latin America & The Caribbean

Cristobal Samardzich is a Senior Analyst for Latin America and the Caribbean. He provides political and policy analysis, macroeconomic forecasts, and sovereign and operational risk assessments for the region. He leads EIU’s forecasts for Peru, Ecuador and Honduras.

Before joining EIU in 2022, Cristobal served as a consultant for The World Bank, where he evaluated climate vulnerabilities in the Caribbean and development projects in Africa. Previously, he was the Editor-in-Chief of Semana Economica, Peru’s leading business and economics magazine. Cristobal holds a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and communications from Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (Peru) and a Master’s degree in Global Affairs from Yale University (United States).
