Background

Steven edits Financial Services Briefing, The Economist Intelligence Unit’s online information service on that industry. He also oversees and writes articles for the Industry Briefing website, and participates in special projects.

Steven has held a number of positions in the company. From mid-2005 to late 2007 he was Director of Custom Research in the Americas, a post in which he organised and oversaw many bespoke projects. From 1999 to mid-2005 he was Managing Editor of Country Finance, a series of annual reports on the world’s principal national financial markets. He started work at the EIU as Asia editor in 1998.

Before joining the EIU, Steven studied politics and economics at the University of Chicago and Columbia University.
