Tianchen is Economist, China for EIU and based in the company’s Beijing office. Tianchen develops timely and actionable views and research on China’s growth prospects, policy trends and regional dynamics. He also covers industries with significant macroeconomic implications in China, including technology sector trends, data regulation and the property industry.
Tianchen has worked for corporates, financial services and international organisations across three continents. He covered the global economy at JD.com, one of China’s leading e-commerce and technology platforms, and worked on East Asian economies while at the Department of General Assembly of the United Nations in New York. Prior to that, he served various roles at Bloomberg, Financial Times and the World Intellectual Property Organisation.
Tianchen holds a Master’s degree in finance from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
