Industry Manager
Swarup leads the financial services, automotive and healthcare teams for The Economist Intelligence Unit’s Industry briefing service. He also writes articles on financial services and energy, among other subjects.
Swarup was previously leading a team of research analysts at Zacks Investment Research’s India offices, generating financial research reports, blogs and overseeing daily market alerts and research digests. Prior to that, Swarup was Assistant Director, Engineering Exports Promotion Council, which is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. Here he was working with government and corporations on a number of projects from generating research reports on export markets to building external relations.
Earlier, during stints with the Telegraph and The Economic Times, he dealt with a wide cross-section of people, and covered a variety of topics including equity and commodity markets.
Swarup has a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Calcutta, where he specialized in international and urban economics. He also holds a post-graduate diploma in management from International Management Institute (IMI), New Delhi.
