Robert is a recognised expert in financial risk, who specialises in briefing corporate executives on macroeconomic, financial and geopolitical trends in the Latin America region.

Providing intellectual leadership to the team of country analysts, Robert guides the EIU’s macroeconomic narrative and forecasts for Latin America and manages the team’s financial risk reports–bringing his expertise on sovereign, currency and banking sector risk. He boasts over 25 years of analytical and consulting experience covering Latin America and is a veteran of the region’s booms and busts and political turmoil, having resided in Mexico during the tequila crisis and in Brazil during the commodities supercycle. He has visited most countries in the region on business.

Robert is a seasoned presenter known for delivering powerful insights at a variety of business events and across broadcast and digital media platforms. He holds a Master’s in Development Studies from Sussex University. He is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
